BEER & BIKES • a cycling club in Minnesota's North Metro that rides to great beer

Celebrating over ten years of riding to great beer!

Founded in 2015, BEER & BIKES is a casual cycling club in the Twin City metropolitan area of Minnesota that rides to quality craft breweries in the metro area. We ride out every Wednesday at 6pm from Driftwood Park in New Brighton to different breweries every week beginning the first Wednesday in April and riding through to the last Wednesday in October.

MEETUP

We meet up beforehand at Driftwood Park in New Brighton. We generally recommend you arrive by 5:50p. Some people often drive to the meetup spot with their bike in tow.

RIDEOUT

Rideout is promptly at 6:00pm — please be on time! If you are running late, please let us know in the Discord Ride Discussion channel.

THE RIDE BACK

We generally begin riding back between 8pm and 9pm depending upon the amount of daylight available to us. It's not uncommon to have an optional second stop on the way back.

OUR RULES OF THE ROAD

BE HEARD & SEEN

Call out everything you see — cars, walkers/runners, glass
Repeat others' call-outs so other riders stay aware
Wear clothing that helps you be seen
Always ride with front and rear lights after dark

BE SAFE & RESPONSIBLE

Observe all traffic laws
Pay attention to your surroundings
Be mindful of cars, pedestrians, and other cyclists
Please drink responsibly, know your limits!
Wear a helmet and make sure your bike is in good working condition

BE KIND & CONSIDERATE

Treat others with respect, namely how you wish to be treated
Tip your servers and bartenders generously
Avoid choices that will piss off motorists and other cyclists
Be a kind human being

We generally try to keep our pace between 11 and 13 mph, but once in a while have been known to exceed that. If we start to ride too fast for your comfort level, don't be shy and please let us know! Let one of our regulars [Michael, Abe, or Jamison] know so that we can keep things comfortable for everyone!
